• SPECIAL EVENT FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED SCHOOL CHILDREN ORGANISED
• UNDERPRIVILEGED SCHOOL KIDS CELEBRATE MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY

Chandigarh March 25 :

As part, a unique Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) initiative, Crazy Town, Sec 7, the popular kids’ friendly party destination known for its innovative games & healthy food options, held ‘Celebration beyond expectation’ a socially relevant event, with a focus on underprivileged school children. The event saw over 10 underprivileged school children getting an opportunity to celebrate in a setting-in the plush & top end interiors of Crazy Town, where generally only kids from privileged segments get a chance to enjoy. As a symbolic gesture to celebrate the school kids’ birthdays, a huge cake was cut by the children, who came from areas like Dadumajra, Jagatpura etc which are considered to be underdeveloped. The cake cutting was done in presence of Chief Guest – Mr. Devesh Moudgil, Mayor, Chandigarh, Guest of Honour -Mrs. Heera Negi, Councillor, Chandigarh and Mrs. Shalini Goel, Social Activist & MD, Crazy Town.

Shalini Goel, Managing Director, Crazy Town, said, “This was an effort to bring a smile on the faces of children from the underprivileged section. Though most of these kids are going to school, they have never had a celebration at a place like Crazy Town. Through this event, I wanted to drive home the point that these kids are also part and parcel of our society and have rights & opportunities equal to children from financially strong backgrounds.”

For the children, the event held a lot of excitement. The cake cutting ceremony was the main attraction for them. All the kids had a great time playing various fun and mystery games like puzzles & hurdles. Stationery comprising study boards, colors, pencils, erasers, scales etc. was also distributed among the children.

Mohit, a student of class 5 said, “This was the first time I celebrated my birthday in such a nice place and I enjoyed it a lot.” Another different aspect of the event was that the children from underprivileged segment played wholeheartedly with those from a privileged segment, which removed the perceived gap between the children.

The event also witnessed participation by some special guests. Over 20 socially concerned ladies from tricity were present. The idea was to involve them to help the needy school children. Most of the women promised to help the school children in different ways. Particular children were adopted by them for the provision of important items required in their education & to help them financially. The ladies will be actively involved in improving the life of children from less privileged sections.

In order to throw some light on the aspect of the health of women & kids, a tricity dietician, Ms. Priyanka conducted a session. Totally dedicated towards providing some moments of enjoyment and togetherness to children from underprivileged sections of society, the function proved to be a hub of fun for these kids.
