Social media giant American company Facebook on Wednesday signed a Rs 43,574 crore investment in Reliance Industries Group company Jio Platforms Ltd, led by Mukesh Ambani. After this deal, Reliance Industries stock rose and Mukesh Ambani once again became the richest person in Asia. He left behind Jack Ma of Alibaba.
Son and daughter jointly reached a deal
Mukesh Ambani started talks with Mark Zuckerberg 14 months ago for a deal between Reliance and Facebook. Son Akash and daughter Isha Ambani came forward to reach this deal of father. Both of them visited Facebook headquarters several times.
Deal named ‘Project Redwood’ Akash and Isha Ambani formed a 30-member core team of Reliance to complete the deal. Together this mission was kept a secret. This secret mission was named ‘Project Redwood’ to complete in 14 months.
During the lockdown on 22 April, video conferencing led by the company’s core team veterans Manoj Modi, Pankaj Pawar and Anshuman Thakur signed the deal without sleeping for hours. The conversation between Mukesh Ambani and Mark Zuckerberg gained momentum when Facebook appointed Ajit Mohan as India’s head of the company.
Anshuman Thakur also played a big role in signing the deal. On April 22, he was on the phone with Ajit from around four in the morning. Before the deal, he was doing paperwork He was very tired while working continuously.
When Anshuman finished the media call with Ajit Mohan, it was assumed that the deal had been completed. Anshuman says that due to the lockdown, if the conversation did not get stuck, we would have declared this deal on 31 March itself.

The deal was named ‘Project Redwood’. California has a lot of redwood trees and Facebook’s headquarters are also there. When the deal reached the final round, there was a lockdown. After this, video conferencing was the only way. The deal was signed through this.
